Summary

   Life Is Strange 2 is an episodic narrative adventure developed by Dontnod Entertainment and published by Square Enix for PC/PS4/XBoxOne. Their is no gameplay trailer yet, but it is planned to be released on September 27, 2018.

   I worked on Life is Strange 2 and its spin-off Captain Spirit as a gameplay developer during my part-time internship from October, 2017 to August 2018. I worked there with the lead gameplay developer Mathieu Simon and the great people of the gameplay team, on the creation of a full world-scale AA game.

Captain Spirit

    Captain Spirit is a spin-off for Life Is Strange 2. It was announced at the E3 2018, XBoxOne conference and is currently available on PC/XBoxOne/PS4 for free as a full 2h experience.

    I worked on Captain Spirit at the beginning of my part-time internship. As I joined Dontnod at the end of the project, I worked on late features like "idle breaks", and on tools for designers and animators. I also worked a lot on debug display and fixes, especially on the animation system. The most of my time at Dontnod, though, was spent on the incoming Life Is Strange 2.

Life Is Strange 2

    I can't tell much about the project right now, as the only thing publicly available is the release date, but I developed, debugged and/or improved different gameplay features, and created different editor tools to help the animators and level designers. It meant understand Unreal Engine always more deeply, and customize it, which is a very tough job, but very rewarding one.
